In today's society, when people consider a certain product, they not only look at its cost performance, quality, etc., but also look at a pre-sale and after-sale service. Driven by the endowment of cheap labor and other factors, China has become a "world factory" and a global manufacturing country.

Since the reform and opening up, driven by cheap labor and other factor endowments, China has become a "world factory" and a global manufacturing country. According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, China’s industry accounted for 37% of GDP in 2013, providing 25% of the country’s jobs, and China’s manufacturing industry accounted for approximately 20% of the world’s total.

However, in the face of the rapidly changing domestic and international economic situation, Made in China is also facing unprecedented challenges: On the one hand, the land, manpower, resources, and other dividends that used to support Made in China are gradually disappearing; on the other hand, since the financial crisis, The strategic significance of the real economy has once again been highlighted. The United States, Germany and other major developed countries in the world have implemented a "reindustrialization" strategy with the revitalization of the manufacturing industry as the core, and cultivated the development of high-end manufacturing in order to seize the commanding heights of a new round of manufacturing.

In the face of challenges, how does China's manufacturing compete with international high-end manufacturing? With this question, the author participated in the traditional media legal person Weibo "confidence from the enterprise" economic situation interview activity organized by the National Internet Information Office, and visited Beijing, Guangdong, and Chongqing. , Shaanxi, Gansu and other provinces and cities manufacturing leading enterprises. In the interview, we learned that China's manufacturing industry is still competitive globally, but we also deeply feel the urgency of the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing industries.

On May 10 this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during an inspection tour in Henan to promote the transformation of Chinese manufacturing to Chinese creation, the transformation of Chinese speed to Chinese quality, and the transformation of Chinese products to Chinese brands. The top leaders of the party and the country organically combined the familiar and exciting words of "manufacturing" and "creation", "speed" and "quality", and "product" and "brand". The thickness of the connotation and the dimension of expansion are self-evident, and have a strong guiding significance for China, a traditional manufacturing country.

How to achieve the "three transformations"? The author believes that there are four key points:

First of all, we need to pay attention to promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. Promote the extension of traditional industries from processing and manufacturing to R&D, design, patents, financing, investment, brand building, business models, and logistics systems, promote the high-end development of the manufacturing industry to the industrial chain, and promote processing trade from low value-added to high value-added develop.

Second, more attention needs to be paid to cultivating and developing strategic emerging industries. Multi-point breakthroughs and integration interactions such as the Internet, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, and optoelectronics will promote the rise of new industries, new formats, and new models. Take the surveyed East Lake New Technology Development Zone, known as the "Optical Valley of China" as an example, its optical fiber and cable production scale ranks first in the world, with a domestic market share of more than 50% for optical fiber and cable, and a 25% share of the international market. In 2013, the total income of enterprises in the high-tech zone reached 651.7 billion yuan. Since 2001, it has basically maintained an average annual growth rate of 30%, forming a new industry-optoelectronics industry as the leading industry, energy and environmental protection, bioengineering, new medicine and other industries are competing The pattern of development.

Third, attach importance to and cultivate independent innovation of enterprises, promote enterprises to increase investment in research and development, and establish and improve a technological innovation system with enterprises as the mainstay. Take the surveyed Gree air conditioner as an example. In recent years, Gree Electric has placed scientific research and product innovation at the highest strategic position, and its annual scientific research investment exceeds 4 billion yuan. More than 10,000 national patents and 12 international leading technologies have forged Gree into a giant aircraft carrier with an annual operating income of more than 120 billion yuan. It has sailed into more than 100 countries and regions around the world, and its air-conditioning production and sales have become the world's first.

Fourth, enhance brand value and promote brand internationalization. In our research, we found that many products in China are quite mature and their share in the international market is increasing year by year. However, compared with international big names, the confidence of Chinese-made brands is not enough. To a large extent, it lies in the gap in consumer psychology and brand culture in the context of internationalization. For more than 30 years, many Chinese companies have gone through the process of hand-crafted workshops, quality first, domestic brand creation, and capital operation. At this time, it is particularly urgent to enhance brand value, especially brand internationalization.
